Baltimore, Md. – October 18, 2004 – Planit, an integrated brand communications agency, today announced that it has been recognized by both the League of American Communication Professionals (LACP) and The Midas Awards for its exceptional work in marketing communications. The agency now adds these honors to its growing list of achievements:
- Gold Award for Advancis Pharmaceutical Corporation’s annual report, LACP Vision Awards
- Winner for Chevy Chase Bank’s e-Bills radio commercial, The Midas Awards
“Planit has been highly active in the financial services and pharmaceutical industries during the past few years, ” said Ed Callahan, creative director and co-founder of Planit. “We have created many successful broadcast, print and direct response programs—both regionally and nationally—and these awards are a testament to our expertise in these market sectors.”
This year, more than 950 entries were submitted to LACP’s annual report competition, which recognizes excellence in communications. The Advancis Pharmaceutical 2003 annual report, written and created by Planit, earned a gold award within its peer-level pharmaceutical class, scoring 95 out of 100 possible points. In an overall ranking, judges placed the report within in the top five percent of entries, positioning it above larger publicly traded companies, including Bear Stearns, Nextel Communications and Lockheed Martin.
In addition to its success in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, Planit’s work in financial services has also been recognized. Planit’s Chevy Chase Bank e-Bills radio spot was a finalist in the Midas Awards, a competition honoring financial services communications worldwide. The spot, which was created as a component of an integrated checking account acquisition campaign, successfully accomplished Chevy Chase Bank’s marketing goals by increasing checking account sales by more than 17 percent through the promotion of e-Bills.
In 2004, the Baltimore Business Journal named Planit one of the fastest growing private companies in the Baltimore area. The agency has won awards from the Advertising Association of Baltimore, American Corporate Identity Awards, Card Industry Marketing Awards, Communicator Awards and the Golden Web Awards, among others.
