When most of us in the U.S. think of sports, the first ones that come to mind tend to be football and baseball—two sports on which Under Armour has had a huge impact.
The reality is: Soccer (ahem, “real football”) is the biggest sport in the world. (For reference, American football barely cracks the top 10.)
So when Under Armour came to Planit looking for help on its mission to expand its global reach by providing the most innovative and advanced training and match equipment, we took the proverbial ball and ran with it.
Planit teamed up with Under Armour’s Global football team to design an advertising campaign for the ultimate direction changing machine—the Blur. The campaign reached adult and youth athletes worldwide with a catalog distribution of just over a million. Since then, The Blur has climbed the charts and is one of the fastest selling shoes in Under Armour history.
Planit has supported Under Armour in the positioning and creation of sales materials year after year for a multitude of shoes. Starting as one brochure piece used by internal teams has grown to be a true strategic partnership; In-store POP, online advertising, email, social elements, and general purpose videos.
Under Armour’s first foray into international football team sponsorship was with the Tottenham Hotspur Football Club’s Premier League team (the Spurs). Planit was chosen as the partner to fulfill several needs to help UA win a critical sponsorship program with the team. Similar to the program for Tottenham, UA pinpointed Chile’s favored team, Colo-Colo. UA ended up beating out Nike for this important sponsorship.
