The Full Stack Web Developer is responsible for ensuring that the development on client web properties delivers against business goals and user engagement objectives. To succeed you must innovate and elevate Planit’s digital capabilities on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

  • Defines, documents, and communicates development standards, best practices, code review processes, and build tools
  • Partners with Design, UX, and Strategy teams to ensure an optimal and consistent user experience
  • Equally partners with development peers to ensure overall performance of technology stack
  • Defines and sets a project’s roadmap to include planning for integration of new technology, ownership of code libraries, and backlog of technical tasks
  • Serves as an ambassador for development and a champion of quality standards while spreading a passion for current technology and new trends
  • Other  responsibilities to include ensuring adherence to standards, code reviews, mentorship of development team, issue/conflict resolution, and one on ones with team members reporting to the lead
  • Participates as an active team member of daily standups and other agile-focused efforts, including joining sprint planning meetings and estimating work effort on tasks assigned to the entire team
  • Accountable for delivering work that exceeds internal and client standards on a consistent basis as well as for the work produced by your team
  • Collaborates with project managers, designers, QA, and others to enhance existing UI

 

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of full-stack web development experience, preferably LAMP. Experience developing with web development technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, PHP, JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, etc.
  • Experience working with, theming, extending, and integrating Content Management Systems and Frameworks, WordPress experience is required, Drupal 8 experience is preferred but not required
  • HTML email experience preferred. Thorough understanding of HTML Email best practices. Experience building HTML5 Email templates with an understanding for client support, best practices, and compatibility across all platforms. Experience creating valid Email templates within third party systems such as custom MailChimp or Constant Contact templates. Experience with cross browser / device / email client testing, preferably with Email on Acid or Litmus testing
  • Experience with web frameworks that implement MVC design patterns, preferably Laravel, CodeIgniter, etc
  • Proven experience implementing adaptive/responsive designs
  • A thorough understanding of HTTP, cookies, caching, and optimization techniques
  • Expert knowledge of cross-browser compatibility, including tablet and phone form-factors
  • Competency working/deploying projects with a source control tool; GIT preferred
  • A self-starter who is motivated to take ownership of projects and drive tasks to completion with a keen eye for design aesthetics
  • Ability to elevate designs into engaging digital experiences
  • Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual project launch
  • Ability to recognize and quickly communicate project risks both to the timeline and quality
    of final deliverable
  • Excellent communicator, mentor, and team player. Must exhibit the ‘no I in team’ attitude
  • A pragmatist – must be able to balance time, scope, cost, and quality while knowing when to experiment with new technology when choosing the right tool to meet business needs
  • Ability to be good at being awesome
