Social Media Content Creator

 

The Social Media Content Creator is responsible for producing social media-first video content that is aligned with our clients’ and agency’s social media strategy, brand and marketing objectives. The ideal candidate is a creative self-starter who lives and breathes social media platforms, has an aptitude for photography, videography and editing, is always up to speed on the latest trends and innovations and has a digital first mindset. Their passion for high quality content and social media trends translates into creative work that exceeds the expectations of the agency and our clients. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead the production of high quality social media assets (with an emphasis on vertical video) across all relevant social channels, which adheres to social media best practices, as well as brand voice and tone
  • Brainstorm fresh ideas that push the envelope from a social media content perspective
  • Work closely with content team including social media strategists, sharing best practices, platform updates and capabilities, ensuring social media strategy reflects the most up to date information 
  • Seek to continuously improve social media content ideas and executions by working with the social media strategists to understand content performance metrics and insights 
  • Propose real-time content based on social media trends and relevant social conversations
  • Display curiosity and a willingness to push your own thinking and the agency’s work in new creative directions in social media and digital content
  • Successfully complete projects as they are proposed to client—on-time and within budget/retainer hours
  • Practice superior time management and ability to work independently, including ability to work remotely
  • Work remotely, in office or on-location depending on content needs 

 

TASKS

  • Develop engaging, timely and social-first video content for agency and clients 
  • Collaborate with social media leads to pitch, plan, produce and share engaging, original content on social media platforms (with a current focus on Instagram Reels and TikTok) 
  • Producing videos for TikTok/Reels: Ideating, writing script, shooting/editing/posting final creative
  • Pitching and coordinating live video streaming events for social media channels
  • Analyze requested social media deliverables and provide accurate turnaround timelines
  • Occasionally work with Planit Productions on set of larger productions to create content for social platforms and provide art direction for social media photo shoots 
  • Maintain and organize social media content files, prepare files for delivery to client for review and approval
  • Source stock images as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree or relevant experience in communications, advertising, multimedia/broadcast or related field preferred
  • 2-3+ years successfully creating digital content for social media 
  • Social media super user is a plus 
  • Excellent graphic design aesthetic and eye for detail
  • Creative thinker able to propose respectfully disruptive ideas for our clients and agency social media channels
  • Proven social media content creation experience for social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest and LinkedIn
  • Design experience (social, Web, blogs, email, digital advertising) is a plus
  • Social media copywriting experience is a plus
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Google Suite and social media platforms (channels, publishing and social listening)
  • On-the-fly editing experience within social media platforms  
  • Strong knowledge of social media trends, platforms and best practices for social media content
  • Knowledge about paid social media and digital advertising a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive team relationships, even in a remote work environment
  • Inclusive and mindful of individual differences and work styles
  • Works well under pressure and is capable of remaining focused despite rapidly changing priorities and competing deadlines
  • Enthusiasm for social media, technology and innovation 
  • Ability to occasionally work weekend and after-hours, as expected in the 24/7 PR and social media news cycle
  • Ability to work on-location to gather and create content
