The Baltimore-based full service marketing and PR agency will recruit new members to the iconic Syracuse meat purveyor’s “Sausage Brigade”

BALTIMORE, MD (July 26, 2016) — Planit, Baltimore’s top communication, marketing and interactive agency, announced that it has teamed up with Hofmann Brands as its PR agency of record to promote the beloved Syracuse brand and support its retail expansion into new markets nationwide through message development, creative public relations campaigns, new partnerships and events.

The agency kicked off the relationship by publicizing the recent opening of Hoffmann Brands’ new corporate office in Baltimore. “We’re excited to formally join Hofmann Brands’ ‘Sausage Brigade’ and turn the iconic brand into a household name,” said Sarah Quackenbush, director of client engagement at Planit. “I’m confident our partnership will be a successful one based on our proven track record in pushing challenger brands to shake up an entire category, our experience in CPG marketing and Hofmann Brands’ willingness to be bold and disruptive.”

The agency will also support the launch of new products, including the company’s Handwich brand featuring Hofmann Brands franks and sausages wrapped in artisanal brioche or pretzel rolls. The Handwich is available in Kielbasa, Jalapeno Sausage, Cheddar and German Frank varieties, as well as recipes inspired by flavors from across the globe.

“We are on a mission to expand beyond our Syracuse roots and create a nation of sausage aficionados,” said Reginald Bailey, CEO of Hofmann Brands. “As an agency with a finger on the pulse of the market, proven success in building brand awareness, and a similar swagger, there’s no doubt in my mind that Planit will get us there.”

With a brand heritage and a customer following that spans generations—dubbed the “Sausage Brigade”—Hofmann Brands prides itself on doing things the old-fashioned way and bringing people together through a love of sausage. Hofmann Brands’ products are currently sold throughout the East Coast, the Midwest, Florida and Texas, with plans to expand to the Western United States in the near future.
