Every year, Planit goes out of its way to produce a memorable holiday card to send out to clients and friends. In 2010, staffers lip-synced to a popular Christmas tune in a music video. In 2011, Planiteers were pitted against in each other in a “Would You Rather” holiday challenge, and for seven days they had to perform public acts of humiliation in the name of charity. And who could forget Planit’s Holidares challenge of 2012? But 2013 was one for the record books. Meet #HolidayFear. This year, a few of the evil geniuses at Planit decided to scare the cheer out of fellow employees and use their priceless reactions in a video montage holiday card. All because as an agency, Planit believes the best ideas should scare you. Tricked into thinking they were singing Christmas carols on camera, small groups of Planiteers were pulled into a private conference room decked out in holiday décor. In the middle of the song, a scary elf popped out and scared the bejesus out of the unsuspecting carolers. Hilarity ensued. Check out the holiday card at www.holidayfear.com. Planit sent out the holiday card via email on Friday, December 13, and within 24 hours the video had more than 6,000 views on YouTube. As of January 14, it had more than 25,000 views. Planit’s crazy holiday antics earned praise from ad industry critics and garnered press coverage on a local and national scale.
