BALTIMORE, MD (March 9, 2018) — In a night celebrating our best and brightest, Planit picked up the most awards across multiple categories at the Baltimore American Advertising Awards ceremony on Thursday, March 8, 2018. Planit won a total of 12 ADDYs, including 8 gold and 4 silver awards. Planit’s “Flip the Script” campaign for The Family Tree was also honored with a Special Judges Award.

The American Advertising Awards, also known as the ADDYs, is hosted by the AAFB (American Advertising Federation of Baltimore) and pays tribute to Baltimore’s most talented marketing and communications professionals. The event, themed “The Last ADDYs?”, paid homage to the changing nature of the industry as it shifts from traditional to digital-led campaigns.

In addition to the special recognition for the gold-winning “Flip the Script” campaign, Planit also took home gold awards for the following entries:
Kleenex Facial Cleansing “Meet Your Skin” Online/Interactive Campaign

  • Colossal Blue Brand Launch
  • Natreon One Brand Launch
  • Natreon One Microsite
  • Dunbar Cybersecurity Microsite
  • Kiddie Academy “Amazing Starts Here” Campaign
  • Brown Advisory Step Ahead Annual Report

Gold award entries will automatically move on to the regional competition to compete with agencies from Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, Delaware, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

“As this year’s ADDYs celebration ushered in the new wave of advertising, we could not be more proud to take home awards reflecting the talent, creativity, and nimbleness of the Planit team,” said Matt Doud, president of Planit. “In this industry, we must constantly change and evolve to meet the demands of the consumer. At Planit, we are driven by a desire to produce great work that pushes boundaries and exceeds expectations. I am happy to say that the work of advertising professionals in Baltimore, and the work that we do here at Planit, is alive and well.”

Sarah Quackenbush, Planit’s group account director, received the Patricia Martin Crystal Prism Award for her outstanding contributions to the Baltimore advertising community. The award honors her passion for furthering industry standards and enhancing the image of advertising.

Doud continued, “We are so proud of Sarah, who was honored for her commitment and achievements in the industry. Sarah exemplifies all of the qualities that we value at Planit, including work ethic, grit, and creativity. We are proud to have created an inspiring work environment where talent like Sarah’s can thrive and she can further inspire her staff and our clients.”

This year the AAFB received 262 entries, resulting in 85 ADDY awards presented to local agencies, production houses, and in-house marketing teams. To ensure fair judging, three creative advertising professionals from outside of the Baltimore market reviewed each entry. The 44th Annual Baltimore American Advertising Awards was held at The Assembly Room.
