–Nationally Renowned Trade Publication Recognizes Planit as the Best Small Agency in Southeast Region–

Baltimore, Md. (August 2, 2011)Planit puts Baltimore on the map yet again with its recent national award win. Ad Age named Planit the Winner of the Southeast Region at its annual Small Agency Conference Awards in Denver, Colo., on Thursday, July 28. Hundreds of entries were submitted from agencies across the U.S. and Canada, as well as from 20 other countries. The competition was based on a number of criteria including Thought Leadership, Portfolio, Business Results and Agency Culture. Judging was determined by editorial staff from both Ad Age and Creativity.

“We are extremely proud to be recognized as a Small Agency of the Year by such a prominent and globally recognized industry publication,” commented Matt Doud, president of Planit. “We set out to grow beyond Baltimore and the mid-Atlantic, and this recognition is proof positive that Planit is becoming an agency player on a national stage.”

Not many agencies Planit’s size can boast the types of successes it achieved this year. Some of those milestones include creating a site celebrating Fila’s 100th year and launching an Israeli wine offline, online, socially and virally. Under Armour chose the agency to help introduce a new technology to the NFL Combine. Planit developed digital games on Facebook (that thousands of people actually played) for McCormick and helped solidify Marriott’s place as the 7th largest e-commerce site in the world. That’s right, the world. Planit’s been on an amazing run with no reason to believe that that will change anytime soon.

“The national and global clients that select us know that great work and creativity is the disruptive advantage needed to move their businesses,” commented Ed Callahan, co-founder of Planit. “We are looking forward to continuing to expand our client base with this awareness of Planit.”

Profiles of the winning agencies will run in the August 8 print edition of Ad Age as well as online. Ad Age is an industry-leading trade publication that provides communications, advertising and marketing professionals with media updates, account developments, campaign reviews and current trends.
