The 40 Under 40 Class of 2021 represents the best of the Greater Baltimore young business people

BALTIMORE (Nov. 22, 2021) — Planit, an award-winning full service advertising agency, announced today that Liz Borcik, account director, was named a 40 Under 40 Honoree by the Baltimore Business Journal (BBJ).

Each year, the BBJ recognizes 40 outstanding young professionals under the age of 40 who are making noteworthy contributions to Greater Baltimore. The selected honorees have achieved personal career success, started and grown businesses, dedicated their lives to solving community problems, and inspired themselves and those around them to improve Greater Baltimore as a whole. Selected out of nearly 200 nominations, this year’s honorees were recognized at an in-person award celebration on Nov. 18.

“It’s an honor to be named to the 40 Under 40 2021 class,” said Borcik. ”As a full-time working mom of two small boys, it’s been a journey balancing personal goals, family commitments and career achievements. To be recognized alongside some of Baltimore’s best, with such a prestigious award really means the world to me.”

As a leader at the agency, Borcik leverages a strategic digital mindset while nurturing business relationships to help Planit’s clients set and achieve their goals through innovative, forward-thinking campaigns. Prior to becoming an account director at Planit, Borcik was an integral part of the agency’s social media team. Borcik also spent time leading programs at Anne Arundel Medical Center, which expanded and rebranded as Luminis Health. During that time, Borcik worked with the team to lead the branding initiative of the new health system and sat on the committee that ultimately developed the three-year strategic plan for the Women’s and Children’s Service Line and the hospital’s Opioid Task Force, holding the goal of reducing opioid prescriptions by 50 percent.

“We are thrilled that Liz’s leadership, passion and creativity is being recognized as a 40 Under 40 honoree by the Baltimore Business Journal,” said Matt Doud, president and co-founder of Planit. “At Planit, we celebrate big, bold ideas and team members – like Liz – who tirelessly share them and inspire those around them to use those ideas to create an impact not only for our clients but deep into the community. We couldn’t be more proud to have Liz on our team!”

The impact of Borcik’s leadership extends beyond Planit into the community with an affinity for organizations focusing on mental illness. Borcik presently serves on the board of directors for Wild Kid Acres and the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County, where she created and chairs a marketing committee. She is a member of the George Washington University School of Business’ Digital Marketing Advisory Council alongside members from companies such as Amazon, Coca-Cola, Google, Microsoft, Tesla, Home Depot, Dyson and more. In the past she has also volunteered with Ronald McDonald House Charities.
