Planit Co-Founders Recognized as Honorees in Communications

Baltimore, MD – (February 2, 2016) – Matt Doud and Ed Callahan, co-founders of Planit, have been named among The Daily Record’s Influential Marylanders for 2016. Callahan and Doud were chosen as honorees for their significant contributions to the business community throughout Maryland and for their leadership in the area of communications.

“I am honored to be selected as an Influential Marylander,” said Callahan, co-founder and creative strategist at Planit. “Maryland is establishing itself as a hotbed of innovation and creativity, and it has been my passion to constantly push myself, and my team at Planit to ensure our great work and stellar people continue to positively impact our community.”

In addition to leading the creative direction of Planit, Callahan also provides creative and strategic support to several Baltimore pillars, including Calvert Hall College High School, Mariposa, The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore and the Baltimore Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He further supports charitable efforts by encouraging and supporting Planit employees’ participation in activities that benefit Maryland organizations and residents, such as the 2015 Susan G. Komen Maryland Race for the Cure and Tessemae’s All Natural Crop Circles event.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Influential Marylanders, which The Daily Record began in 2007 to recognize those who are leaving a mark on the community throughout the state.

Additionally, this marks the second year Doud, Planit’s co-founder and president, has been honored with the award. He was also recognized in 2010. “Being chosen again as an Influential Marylander is not only a great honor, but also a testament to the continued growth and transformation of Planit,” he said. “More than two decades ago, Ed and I set out to create a different kind of agency in Baltimore—one that focuses on revolutionizing business for our clients—and each year we continue to successfully take on challenges that impact our industry in Maryland, and beyond.”

“Each of our Influential Marylanders has qualities we aspire to emulate and accomplishments we admire. They are leaders in their respective fields and bring promise to those who benefit from their hard work,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, publisher of The Daily Record. “They also challenge us to realize our hopes and dreams and to meet our own goals. They are examples for all of us throughout the state, and The Daily Record is pleased to honor them.”

Callahan and Doud, along with the other honorees, will be recognized at a ceremony on March 17 at 5:30 p.m. at The Grand Lodge of Maryland, 304 International Circle in Cockeysville. Winners will be profiled in a special magazine that will be inserted into the March 18 issue of The Daily Record and available online at www.TheDailyRecord.com.
