BALTIMORE (December 20, 2022) — Baltimore-based advertising agency, Planit, was named PRSA Maryland’s 2022 PR Team of the Year during the Best in Maryland Gala on Thursday, December 8. Planit also took home a Best in Maryland award in the category of Media Relations- For Profit, for its work with Sheetz, supporting the launch to a new market with stores in Columbus and central Ohio.
The PR Team of the Year award recognizes teams that effectively communicate and manage various project expectations while consistently delivering results that meet or exceed these expectations. Planit’s PR team previously won the Best in Maryland PR Team of the Year award in 2019. Since then the team has grown to include 15 strategists of various levels of experience, operating as a cohesive unit within an agency of more than 85 employees. A result, the team secured nearly nine billion earned media impressions in 2022 for top client accounts alone. Key clients include Riviana Foods (Minute Rice, Success Rice), Sheetz, Westlake Royal Building Products™, SourceAmerica, Kelly Benefits, UBS Financial, Burke & Herbert Bank, and Curio Wellness.

A Best in Maryland for Media Relations award was awarded to Planit for excellence in its work with Sheetz, a major Mid-Atlantic restaurant and convenience chain with more than 670 locations, all open 24/7/365. In 2021, Planit developed and executed a strategic communications plan announcing Sheetz’s growth into the Columbus, Ohio market. Over the course of several announcements and events, Planit secured more than 80 earned media placements, seven private media tours, and 17 million impressions with local media, national and trade outlets. Within the first week of opening, the new Columbus location exceeded sales expectations both inside and at the pump.
