Baltimore Marketing Firm Recognized for Its Work in Interactive Media

BALTIMORE (May 15, 2012) — On the heels of receiving Best of Show at the Baltimore ADDY® Awards in April, Planit has gone on to win a national ADDY award for the website it created for Fila’s 100th anniversary. The site commemorates the global lifestyle brand’s century of styles and successes.

“Most people know Fila, but most don’t realize it’s been around for 100 years. In the world of sports apparel, that’s remarkable. Nike can’t say that. Adidas can’t say that,” commented Trevor Villet, creative director at Planit. “This was a great opportunity to celebrate a century of iconic clothing from a truly iconic brand. We certainly weren’t going to create a same ol’ same ol’ walk down memory lane full of timelines. This site features the clothes in fun ways and even lets people vote on whether they’d wear a piece of clothing from another decade right now. This site is proof that history doesn’t have to be boring.”

The Fila 100th anniversary website won gold at the local and district ADDYs, which qualified it to compete against finalists the weekend of May 5 in Washington, D.C. More detail about the award will be announced at the ceremony on June 5 in Austin, Texas.

“I’m on a mission to continue to put Planit and our clients on a national stage,” said Matt Doud, president of Planit. “Great work gets noticed by great organizations. And this ADDY award is just one more huge success my team should be proud of.”

Planit recently participated in the 38th Annual American Advertising Federation of Baltimore awards showcase where the firm won 24 awards, including the prestigious Best of Show award for their Gilgal/Yarden Wines multimedia campaign. Planit was also named a Small Agency of the Year by AdAge in 2011.
